for some time now i have been reading numerous indivisual life stories relating to their experience with the jws and one obscure ( or at least not directly elabourated upon) detail keeps popping up.. it would appear that whenever a person leaves the organisation by da/df/ia that people take it upon themselves to start spreading "nasty rumours" about the person in question.. it always seems that so much of these said rumours that were frabicated and then propagated throught the local jw community that the poaster almost never seems to have time to goint any detail about what exactaly was said about them in detail.. i would like to invite the posters here on the board to shed some light on their experience regarding their reputation after leaving the kh.. it would appear that once disfelloshipped that the jw community must make it abundantly clear that the person is of absolutely deplorable character inorder to justify their inhumane treatment of the df'ed indivisual.
saying that there is no honourable way to leave the oragnisation this seems to be rather common place.. i am also informed that even if the df'ed person were permitted to return that their reputation within the jw community would never be the same due to the tarnishing of their name and the stigma attached to being df'ed.. i may not be entirely too shure about this one but it would seem that if while still in good standing should the indvisual to become "publicly reproved" or "marked" that this would also be an invitation for the local jw community to begin the same process of defaming the character of the person in question.. would anyone care to discuss your personall experience relating to any private information which became public knowledge after you left the jw community or any half truths that were deileberately propagated to tarnish your name in the vacinity of the kh.
and even worse yet blant lies that were imagined and promoted about you inorder to permanatently damage your character.. i would also be interested in who exactly you think were responsible for the iniation of these rumours.. was it the elders?

while cleaning up my desk to make room for new garbage, i came up with this e-mail that was sent to me by my brother-in-law (non-witness) policeman and i thought i would share it with you for a twist in the action.
please bear with me.. "this is a true story about a recent wedding that took place at clemson university and even jay leno mentioned it.
it was a huge wedding with 300 guests.
Whether it's a true story or not, it's still a good laugh. Here's a true golf story. I friend of mind who is semi bald, hit a golf shot and the divot landed on his head, it fitted as though it was a toupe. That was a site to behold.

"This is a true story about a recent wedding that took place at Clemson University and even Jay Leno mentioned it. It was a huge wedding with 300 guests. After the wedding, at the reception, the groom got up on stage at the microphone to talk to the crowd. He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding. He especially wanted to thank the bride and groom's families for coming and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such fabulous reception. To thank everyone for coming and bringing gifts and everything, he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift just from him. So, taped to the bottom of everyone's chair was a manila envelope, including the wedding party. He said that this was his gift to everyone, and told everyone to open the envelopes. Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 picture of his best man having sex with the bride.
He had gotten suspicious of the two of them and hired a private detective to trail them weeks prior to the wedding. After he stood there and watched the people's reaction for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said, "F---you!" He turned to the bride and said, "F----you!", and then turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said,"I'm out of here." He had the marriage annulled first thing Monday morning. While most of us would have broken off the engagement immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with it anyway, as if nothing was wrong.
His revenge? making the bride's parents pay over $32,000 for guests for the wedding and reception. Letting everyone know exactly what did happen. And best of all, trashing the bride's and best man's reputation in front of all their friends and their entire families. This guy has balls the size of church bells. Do you think we might see one of those MasterCard "Priceless commercials" out of this?
Elegant wedding for 300 family and guests? $32,000
Photographs for the wedding? $3,000
Deluxe honeymoon accomodations in Maui for two weeks? $8,500
The look on everyone's faces after seeing a photo of the Bride and Best Man having sex? PRICELESS"

hi all i was thinking about this the other day and how the elders say that they have gods direction when they have judicial meetings, if that is the case and gods spirit is directing their decision then why do they have the allowance for an appeal, after all if god is supposed to be directing them there would be no mistake in the decision right?
any thoughts people?
Their referring to their SPIRIT.

what is the true religion anyone have a clue?.
i would love to know, if anyone does have a clue; being a witness most of my life it gave me this feeling like i really was in the true religion and god really was with me cause i belonged to the "true religion.. i have noticed that witness's say the elders were appointed by holy spirit, how do they know did they see it, it just dawned on me that all of it has been based on the premise that i had to have faith in what they say rather then substantiated facts; all of what they say simply put is nothing more then words, contrived by men only, if you tell them this you get the treatment like your going to be destroyed which is paramount to going and burning in hell.
Are you the Tin Man from OZ? Have you considered 'spirituality?' Compare a spiritual person to a religious person in light of the following scriptures. James said, "If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, yet a certain one of YOU says to them: "Go in peace, keep warm and well fed," but YOU do not give them the necessities for their body, of what benefit is it?" Matt.5:43-48, "However I say to YOU: Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting YOU,.....And if YOU greet YOUR brothers only what extraordinary thing are you doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing?"
Paul said, "Keep TESTING whether you are in the faith, keep PROVING what you yourselves are....." 2 Cor.13:5 "Make sure of all things..."1 Thess.5:21 How can we do this if others think for us?
Galations 5:22,23 numerates the fruits of God's spirit and it concludes by saying, "...Against such things there is no law" when we manifest it in our daily lives. Whom did Jesus condemn in Matt.23, the religious hypocrites or the spiritual persons in light of the above scriptures?

i am writing this post in light of what sharon roe's said in her closing comments to the news-register, " if you're hurting, she says, get help.
if you see someone hurting, reach out.
i don't often write lengthy letters, but after reading sharon's letter, i was compelled to share a letter that i had written to an elder who took it upon himself to say that i was not repentant and this led to my expulsion.
There is truth to the saying, "There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving."
Giving recognition and encouragement to others brings personal happiness.

Thanks Prisca. We all have our own little experiences. It is good to share them. I found it to be emotionally strengthening. As I said, few people really care. Life is tough but we need to hang in there and get over the hurdle. There is light at the end of the tunnel, we just need some form of help, be it by others or ourselves.

an elder came to visit last night, i had hoped that he came to wish me a happy birthday (im 41 today!
) but no such luck.. he actually came to invite me to the memorial, the first official visit by an elder i have had for many, many years.. we talked about general issues at first, how i felt very angry at the way the society lied and continues to lie to protect its butt.. then happened one of those wonderful moments when you see someone do a double take, the issue of deception and hypocrisy came up and of course i had to mention the un.
at this point i assumed that the elder had heard all about the un debacle.. me: so, tell me honestly, how did you feel when you first found out that the society were a registered supporter on the united nations?.
Wait until the peodophilia issue comes up at the door. If you think you shook him up, what reaction will he give an hostile householder?

"a loving christian is certainly ready to believe those who have proved trustworthy in the past.
"the faithful and discrete" slave have certainly proved true to its description by faithfully discharging its duties, and so fully merits our trust.".
sleepy, why not print it out or scan it so we can copy it. Just block out the personal names.
